Cost of Living

My daughter and her husband, both educators, would have never been able to afford childcare: so I retired and stepped up to help. The cost of life’s necessities — like housing, healthcare, childcare, and groceries — are rising unreasonably high, and income isn’t increasing enough to compensate! Those hurting the most are already dealing with housing insecurity, unaffordable healthcare, and high taxes.

We can do something about it!

Taxes should be increased for the wealthy (those whose lives would not be impacted) so that taxes can be lowered for the struggling families who desperately need it. Income should be raised to compensate for cost of living and inflation. Relief programs for childcare and healthcare should be supported instead of restricted and undercut. Money in our state capital needs to be redirected and reallocated to the economy and the people who need it – not wasted in the processes of governing.

The people and the economy are directly tied to each other. If the people are prosperous, our economy is prosperous!
